Looking for a Baby Photographer
Looking for a baby photographer and you don’t know where to start? Of course asking friends and family for referrals is always a great idea! But what if they don’t have someone that they would highly recommend? Or what if that photographer doesn’t quite fit your style? Well, that’s when most of us would turn to Google for a quick search. Most likely, that’s how you ended up here today! Welcome, I’m so glad your are here! So, now what? You will probably look through some of the blog posts and a gallery or two. And, if you like what you see, you will reach out to ask about pricing and availability. And while that’s great, you might need more information than you can get through an email. The best way to get to really know if you will like the photographer and the experience they provide is to visit the studio and meet them!
Reason 1: The Products!
Yes, you can see products online, but to really know if you will love the heirloom albums and custom framing options it’s best to see them in person! After all, you are investing in art, and art is meant to be printed!
Reason 2: The Wardrobe!
Does the photographer you are considering offer wardrobe? We offer a wonderful client closet for you to borrow from! This saves you valuable time shopping. Our client closet is always in season too! have you ever shopped for white pants win the middle of the winter? It also saves you the stress of knowing what to purchase and what colors photograph best. And most of all, it saves you money! My average clients wears about $500 worth of outfits per session. And many of these items are things that your baby might not ever wear again. We also have a beautiful selection for moms who will be photographed as well! A Pre-Session Consultation allows you to try on dresses ahead of time!
Reason 3: The Studio!
Come visit the place where your newborn or baby will be photographed. This allows you to see the props, headbands, bonnets, swaddles, etc…everything in person. It will set you mind at ease knowing exactly where you’re going and what to expect once you are there.
Reason 4: Meet Me!
It may sound silly but meeting your photographer will put you at ease on your session day! Ideally you will love your photographer and want them to photograph all of your babies so make sure you really enjoy working with them. Most families average 6 sessions with me! You will get the opportunity to ask all of your questions and get answers in real time. We can chat about your vision for your sessions and I can get to know you and your preferences.
Reason 5: It’s Fun!
If you are anything like me, I’m a planner! And when I was pregnant, I was a super planner! And there was nothing I loved more than chatting about everything related to the baby I was expecting. I would love to sit down with you and hear all about your baby and your plans! Yeah, this is kind of like Reason 4 but hey, it’s may favorite reason!! Seriously though, let’s make sure we’re a good fit! We might be photographing your growing family for many years to come so let’s take this opportunity to get to know each other a little before your session day.
Is a consultation for everyone? No, I would say it’s not necessary for everyone. Some people don’t have the time to meet because their baby is already aging out of a stage or they are booking a very last minute maternity session. Others just know that they want me to be their photographer and have no additional questions. While other people really just want as much information possible and coming in is the very best way to accomplish this!
